i got it fixed. i had to replace two splitters that both weren't MoCA compatible, and i had to find which coax cable went to the outlet in my room and connect it to the new splitter. thank you.

the MoCA light turned on when i connected it to the cgm4140com directly, so i know that it is MoCA compatible with the MA2500C. does this mean the problem is definitely with the splitters, and i need to replace all my splitters with MoCA compatible splitters?
