While it is technically possible to mix and match WF-803M and MA2500D, you will be bottlenecked to 1000Base-T on WF-803M. Of course, you can make the main MoCA node as MA2500D with 2500Base-T and other access nodes as WF-803M with 1000Base-T.

There is a built-in MoCA filter inside MA2500D? So the filter essentially selects only the Extender D Band frequency? I believe Hitron's MoCA 2.5 adapter does not have a MoCA filter. Some were able to use the backdoor shell to switch the default D band to C band to simulate MoCA WAN for G1100. Now, MoCA WAN is a thing of the past, as VZ removes the MoCA WAN controller completely in newer routers.

Interesting. When Actiontec released their ECB7250, somebody discovered the Ethernet controller too have problems with Intel NICs. I am not sure this is the same problem. Hopefully MaxLinear and/or Intel can release a firmware update to address the issue.

It may have to do with the firmware of the MoCA chip. Right now, MaxLinear seems to be the only supplier of MoCA 2.5 chips. As far as I know, a majority of MoCA adapters on market uses the same MoCA chip.

You can use iperf3 to test between two hosts connected with goCoax adapters. Make sure your Ethernet NICs along the way is also capable of nearing 1 gig. If the cable cards really need the G1100, then it should only need to be activated once. Once activated, G1100 can be taken out.

I guess that option was not too tedious to find. In case you want to take out the G1100 and repurpose it for other purposes, we can continue this thread. Otherwise, your case can be summarized as follows: Two goCoax 2.5 try to co-exist with Fios-G1100 MoCA 2.0 unbonded LAN. Compatibility issues between these devices. Solution: disable Fios-G1100's MoCA LAN interface in GUI.

@ploog Yeah, I agree that the optimal setup may not be the actual setup. I guess we could bring the OP's setup to an optimum (as a none, not the ISP) when solving the MoCA issue along the way.

The OP, to check what WAN connection you have, just login to G1100 and check the left side at the home page, whether it is Ethernet or Coax Connected. Or, go to your ONT and see whether the MoCA LED is illuminated.

@ploog If OP uses MoCA WAN, the connection speed must be 100/100 or less, which are all legacy packages. Mix and Match 300/300 is generally cheaper than 100/100 or 75/75, so conversion to M&M is another task to embark for the OP. goCoax produced Frontier adapter should be able to operate at Channel C4 (1000MHz).

TiVO guide does not need a Verizon router. Only when you are using Verizon STBs and want to access the DVR remotely then you would need a Verizon router. Right now, in bridge mode, G1100 is essentially acting like a switch. It does not inspect the network packet or do anything network related. Do you have an Ethernet coming from the ONT to your G1100? If so, just unplug the coax cable to G1100. You can disable the MoCA LAN in the GUI, but still too tedious to find that option.

@philfalco May I have your router firmware version? It should display the same thing as you see on goCoax 2.5 Anyway, I am going to create a summary post over there once we are done here (done means having solved your issue). Asking the above question here like I am providing support out of home.

The OP, since you are not Verizon STBs. The G1100 is not even required. You can repurpose as an access point and/or MoCA adapter. I see the solution is either take out the G1100, or disable the LAN Coax interface on the G1100. Or, just unplug the Coax going to the G1100 if you have an Ethernet coming from your ONT to G1100.

Fios-G1100 is a router, not a modem. For LAN Coax Status, go to https://[router IP]/#/network/connections/5/lancoaxstats Your goCoax 2.5 is communicating with G1100's LAN Coax interface, which caps the connection at 500Mbps. At this point, I recommend you to create a parallel post on the Verizon Forums (which is my home forum), so to benefit users on both places.

@ploog I shouldn't use the phrase MoCA splitters. They are technically coax splitters capable of passing frequencies of the MoCA range. The OP should be able to get Verizon-branded Amphenol splitters for free at any Fios stores, if the OP is planning on swapping out the current splitters for ruling one variable out.

Hello philfalco, do you have other MoCA devices on the network? Do you have Verizon STBs? Those are MoCA devices as well. On the Verizon router and goCoax adapters, you can check the MoCA status and see all MoCA devices on the coax line. Are you referring the ONT as the "modem?" Verizon Fios does not use modems. Putting your [ONT] to bridge mode? You cannot put the [ONT] to bridge mode. Only Verizon routers can be put into bridge mode. Which Verizon router do you have? Do you have Fios TV as well? I recommend you to copy this post to Verizon Forums. Since the goCoax adapters interact with some Verizon accessories, the Forums can give you more insight.
