I just upgraded from 4x WF-803M to 4x MA2500D.
Using the 4x WF-803M, had no issues.
Now with the 4x MA2500D, I get random drops... with no real rhyme or reason that I can tell.
I did a 100 ping test several times successively... a couple of the times no issues, a couple of the times 7% and 8% loss, a couple of the times 30% and 38% loss.
The adapters are directly linked in pairs:
so there is no interference from anything on the coax part, especially given that the WF-803Ms worked perfectly.
I see another post about disabling EEE... however, even if that IS the problem (which I'm not sure of) I can't do that on my switches.
I did update to the newest firmware on the support page: v2.0.11 but it didn't seem to fix the issue... I did a couple of tests after and I was still losing packets.
I need some kind of a firmware fix or a way to configure something on the adapters themselves to fix the issue.
Before i did not read this type of blog, but you informed me about yours, so I went there and learned something. Since I enjoy reading blogs where I learn things, I'll now share my own with you. Hello. All of this is chinese to me. I downloaded the firmware for MA2500D but my laptop doesn't know what to do with it when I click it...(and neither do I!)...Can I get some guidance how to dl it. I'm also getting lots of drops. Not sure what EEE means. Help please :) ....thx. Confused mamma
@CWhiz Do you still have the old WF-803M? I'm curious why the upgrade?
So I've "fixed" my problem...
After doing more research, it turns out that the "dumb" switches I have already don't support EEE so being unable to disable the setting on them wasn't necessary... but one of my Dell switches had it turned on.
Turning it off on that switch seems to have fixed the issue completely, at least so far.
I guess disabling EEE is okay as a workaround, but there really should be a firmware fix.
@goCoax Not sure if I need to ping to get your attention or not, so...
