I have Verizon FIOS internet and am using two goCoax adapters for my WAN. The connection is as follows: Verizon ONT -> ethernet -> goCoax -> coax -> goCoax -> ethernet -> pfSense router A couple of times a day, I get a log from my router that says the WAN ethernet was disconnected and then quickly reattached a few seconds later:
Sep 24 17:20:39 php-fpm 2581 /rc.linkup: Hotplug event detected for WAN(wan) dynamic IP address (4: dhcp, 6: dhcp6)
Sep 24 17:20:39 php-fpm 2581 /rc.linkup: DEVD Ethernet detached event for wan
Sep 24 17:20:42 check_reload_status 455 Reloading filter
Sep 24 17:20:44 check_reload_status 455 Linkup starting $e6000sw0port3
Sep 24 17:20:44 kernel e6000sw0port3: link state changed to UP
Sep 24 17:20:45 php-fpm 59123 /rc.linkup: Hotplug event detected for WAN(wan) dynamic IP address (4: dhcp, 6: dhcp6)
Sep 24 17:20:45 php-fpm 59123 /rc.linkup: DEVD Ethernet attached event for wan
When this occurs, my internet goes down for a few seconds. I believe that these detached and attach events are being caused by the adapters, but I am not sure why. Is there a way to troubleshoot the adapters and see if they are rebooting for some reason? They are being used on my WAN, so I cannot access them via a local IP address. I haven't done any configuration on the adapters, I just pulled them out of the box and started using them.
Electrical interference from nearby appliances Tunnel Rush or devices could potentially disrupt the MoCA signal. Ensure the adapters are placed away from sources of electromagnetic interference.
