I have two WF-803Ms that I'm having a strange issue with. Sending data from unit 1 to unit 2, I'll see > 900Mbit/s consistently. However, when sending data from 2 to 1, the speeds are all over the place. Rarely I'll see over 800Mbps, but most of the time it will be in the 10-50Mbps range. This is running iperf3 between two hosts, either both directly connected to the gocoax units, or via the LAN ports on my wireless routers. I've directly connected the two laptops together to verify I get gigabit speeds both directions, so it's definitely an issue between the moca adapters. I notice that on unit 1, the number of Rx bad packets will increase with each run of iperf3 (and yes, I'm using the recommended -w 2M option). The PHY rates are in the 3400's for both 1->2 and 2->1.
Is it possible for the coax cable to be good in one direction and not the other? (I haven't yet tested connecting the two units together with a short run of coax since that would take my wireless network offline...I can do that test on a weekend if need be). Or is it possible I have a bad transmitter or receiver in one of the units?
My setup is cable->PoE->2-way BAMF splitter -> gocoax1 -> router LAN (coax out to modem)
-> gocoax2 -> AP WAN
