My internet, (Motorola Modem -> Router -> ethernet plugged into desktop) has/is experiencing dropped connections. I called comcast and as soon as the technician saw my setup, he pointed directly at the goCoax splitter and goCoax Low Pass Filter..."those things are bad. They always go out." He replaced both the filter with a slim one (GLP-1G70CW PPC 0924A) and splitter (CommScope SV-2G), ran some tests and gave me a thumbs up.
Today, I noticed my goCoax Moca units were not showing the usual 3 green lights. I checked them against each (coax to coax) and got confirmation hardware was fine.
Here's the odd part. I took the old filter (goCoax Low Pass Filter) and replaced the new filter. I kept the splitter the same. Lo and behold, the network is back online and working as expected.
This seems unusual and I wanted to share. Has anyone experienced similar?
I'm worried about "MoCa leak" although this could just be in my head.
